Batch is a Marseille-based illustrator and street artist known for his quirky visual universe blending 1950s-60s aesthetics with Marseille's urban mythology. His work draws inspiration from the retro graphic design of the post-war era, combining sexy pin-ups, cinema monsters and heroes of the period, and album covers. His most iconic creations include "Putain Kong" featuring King Kong clinging to the Basilica Notre-Dame de la Garde instead of the Empire State Building, "Godzilla" on Place Castellane, "Sardinator" at the Vieux-Port, and humorous compositions like "Attack Apéro Cagole". Batch frequently uses archival images, completing missing parts with his own drawings, which allows him to understand the complexity of graphic work from that era. His works combine humor, satire, and Marseille self-mockery, transforming the city's walls into an urban gallery. Though rooted in graffiti, he values anonymity and views the street as "the most beautiful of galleries."
His creations are regularly exhibited at the Undartground shop and produced as posters, postcards, and t-shirts.
